As a child I had everything I needed and more, but I think I really picked up on my dad’s frugal and money-saving ways and just carried on with those things and thought patterns as I grew up and moved on to being an independent adult. I don’t ever remember not being interested in it or thinking it wasn’t something I needed to prioritize. How did you get interested in saving money? Like most people who read blogs, I enjoy getting to see peeks into others’ ways of life and always enjoy the topic of frugal living! I love Kristen’s open and real style of writing it feels like catching up with a friend or neighbor. I am not sure how or exactly when I stumbled upon TFG, but it was sometime around the start of the pandemic, so early 2020 I think. How long have you been reading The Frugal Girl? We also made one with a tortilla that was fast and easy! Whether you are using whole wheat pita, whole wheat tortilla, or traditional pizza dough for a crust, assembling a fruit pizza with any fruit that is in season is great for little fingers picking up a slice on the go! I love this one from Two Healthy Kitchens, because I love the heartiness of pita bread for the base! I have to admit, rarely do I consider cooking fruit, but these roasted grapes has got me wanting to try! ![]() We also made our own version of fruit sushi here! 8- Roasted Grapes Roll up some fruit in rice, just like traditional sushi! That’s what Self Proclaimed Foodie did for this appetizer. I found several of these I can’t wait to make! This one with raspberries from The Cookie Rookie, or with summer fruit, or with blueberries from Two Peas and Their Pod! Bruschetta is delicious with some crusty bread, a creamy spread, and fresh fruit! ![]() She has a variety of fruits and a variety of toppings that the kids can customize or have fun with making their own favorites. This is ants on a log to a new level!! I love this idea for a variety of appetizers from Two Healthy Kitchens. Whether you serve salsa with corn chips, waffle chips, or bread, chopped up fruit makes the perfect salsa! This one by Cookie Rookie has basil and balsamic vinegar! I would love to see a whole tray of these apple sandwiches from The Lemon Bowl! Spritz with lemon juice to keep from browning! 4- Fruit Salsa She used pears and apples! We also made one for Super Healthy Kids with a Valentines twist here. We love this one from Lauren Kelly Nutrition. ![]() Second we have Apple Nachos! Arrange sliced apples on a platter, and get creative with your toppings. How can you not start with the fruit kabobs! Easy for kids to eat, and so pretty to look at! We made this one super festive by using red, green, and yellow fruit! Our dip was simply plain yogurt with some honey drizzle inside. So, we decided to round up our favorite fruit party plates! Any of these would make a great offering for a party, whether it’s for a holiday party or any time of year. We love it this way! It gives us an opportunity to not only bring something healthy, but show the others in attendance that healthy food can also be delicious and fun! Rarely have I been to a party where the host provides all the food. Tis the season for parties, buffets, and banquets where we love to bring a fruit party platter! In Utah, it’s very traditional to be invited to dinner parties and holiday parties where everyone contributes a dish.
